Phronesis: a especificidade da compreensão moral

Resumo

Este artigo retoma o conceito aristotélico da phronesis, conforme propõe Hans-Georg Gadamer, em Verdade e método (1960), com vistas a enfrentar a oposição entre o caráter universal dos princípios morais abstratos e a particularidade dos contextos históricos e da autocriação do eu. O interesse específico é utilizar a revalorização da phronesis, a deliberação prudente, enquanto compreensão prática, que pode auxiliar no enfrentamento da tensão gerada no processo educativo entre a criação do eu singular e a integração na comunidade (ethos comum).

ABSTRACT


Phronesis: the moralcomprehension specificity
This article resumes the Aristotelic concept of phronesis, according to Hans-Georg Gadamer’s view in Verdade e método (1960), where he faces the opposition between the universal character of the abstract moral principles and the particularity of the historical contexts and the self auto-creation. The specific interest is to use the revaluation of the phronesis, the prudent deliberation, as a practical comprehension that might help to deal with the tension generated in the educative process, between the creation of the singular self and the integration in the community (common ethos).
