This work proposes the study of power relations in the student-school, from the reading and analysis of school photographs, comprising the period between the 1950s and the first decade of this century. The situations presented by photographs of different ages provide important and sufficient to reveal the nature of the relationship between the student and the school, allowing to identify similarities, contrasts, changes and continuities over time and comparisons with contemporary education. Reading and photographic analysis denounce that order and discipline are constant factors in school life. Through these situations are established hierarchy and authority, characterizing the power relations between the student and the school. This can be seen in the arrangement of classes, the interaction and arrangement of bodies during school activities and school organization. Even today, the teacher has a relationship of power over the student, however, is not characterized with the same intensity as before.Downloads
