Interdisciplinary Projects within the Context of the Undergraduate Course in Hospitality Technology of Senac RS College of Technology
Abstract
This paper presents a bibliographical review and a report on the experience acquired from the interdisciplinary practices developed for the Hospitality Technology Course of Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Comercial (Senac), Rio Grande do Sul (RS), Brazil. It raises the educational aspects of a fragmented curriculum and the growing need for interdisciplinary work. It addresses concepts and the different steps in the process of working with projects in education, discussing the attitude of interdisciplinary teaching, communication and teamwork. It also proposes a theoretical and practical discussion on finding a methodology for projects that allow and encourage the development of professional skills. The methodology used was a case study on teaching; collected data on participant observation; and a questionnaire answered by teachers. The researchers also take part in the projects; therefore, they draw their own observations and interpretations from reality. Moreover, the views of other teachers are also taken into account.Downloads
