Teachers selection in higher education institutions: colaborating with the state of art (capes 2011-2012)

Nowadays there has been much talk about the importance of people to the success of organizations. Parallel to this, it has been discussed in various media, the care that companies must have to attract and retain their talents. From this, organizations are enhancing their selection processes in order to seek more qualified professionals to meet the demands of today’s market. This theme has also been analyzed in the context of educational institutions, where the complexity of some functions, in this case the teacher has a significant impact in shaping the individual and society. In this context, this article deals with the study of scientific literature on the process of selection of teachers, in order to prepare the “state of art” on this theme, identifying how these processes occur in Higher Education Institutions. The collected material was taken from the Bank of Dissertations and Thesis CAPES- Higher Education Personnel Improvement Coordination, of 2011 and 2012, being the available period at the time of this survey. As methodology, a search from a brief reading of the published work was used, considering Dissertations and Theses, as well as literature search and analysis of the collected data. This article features a brief background on the selection, as well as some concepts and relationships that this activity has on other important factors of organizations. In the end, there are some considerations and conclusions from the data surveyed by making an invitation to reflect on the importance of this process to improve the quality of funding and training of these professionals, from the few scientific productions involving this theme.
