Abstract

Among all the technological hypes that preceded it, the explosion that the ChatGPT is causing is impressive. This is visible in the exacerbated volume of articles, interviews, columns, blogs and news on the subject that heat up magazines, newspapers and networks by the minute. Going beyond mere episodic information, this article intends to point to the most evident implications in view of the organization of some critical ideas that seem urgent given the circumstances. For this, the route to follow will focus on the impacts that are already felt: a) the consequences for the production and the circulation of scientific knowledge; c) the dilemmas that the Chat brings to education; d) the bottlenecks that literary creation imposes on him.

Lúcia Santaella, Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, São Paulo, SP, Brasil.

Lucia Santaella é pesquisadora 1 A do CNPq, professora titular na pós-graduação em Comunicação e Semiótica e em Tecnologias da Inteligência e Design Digital (PUCSP). Doutora em Teoria Literária pela PUCSP e Livre-docente em Ciências da Comunicação pela USP. Fez doze estágios de pós-doutorado no exterior e foi professora e pesquisadora convidada em várias universidades europeias e latino-americanas. Já levou à defesa 285 mestres e doutores. Publicou 56 livros e organizou 32, além da publicação de quase 500 artigos no Brasil e no exterior. Recebeu os prêmios Jabuti (2002, 2009, 2011, 2014), o prêmio Sergio Motta (2005) e o prêmio Luiz Beltrão (2010).
