Abstract

From about 15 years to now, there has been a movement to re-evaluate the intellectual legacy contained in the criticism of the cultural industry proposed by Theodor Adorno. Although not very influential in the broader circles that are interested in the subject, it appears with him and for those who know how to read a new key to understanding the concept and its respective approach. Other efforts that we have tried to include include Deborah Cook, Heinz Steinert, Blanca Muñoz, Peter Hohendahl, Robert Witkin, Miriam Hansen and Dieter Prokop.

Author Biography

Francisco Rüdiger, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul

Doutor em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade de São Paulo (1995) e Mestre em Filosofia pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1987). Professor titular da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (1985), também leciona no Departamento de Filosofia e nos Cursos de Comunicação da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (neste caso, desde 1990). Entre 1984 e 1990, foi professor da Universidade de Caxias do Sul e, depois, do Instituto Federal de Ensino Técnico e Tecnológico do Rio Grande do Sul (Campus Porto Alegre, 1990-2008).
