Abstract

After accompanying the reception party for Governor Antonio Britto and the board of General Motors through the media, at the launch of the cornerstone of the company's future facilities in the city of Gravataí (RS), the question remains, which will be The environmental impact of the whole enterprise? Is this just another short-term government initiative with purely economic objectives or will the necessary environmental projects be carried out? Why is there not an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and why has not society been adequately informed? Why was not all this discussed openly?
