Contributions to the analysis of soccer culture

Abstract

The "Esporte e Cultura" Research Group (at  Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro) has been carrying out pioneering work since the second half of the 1990s, developing state-of-the-art academic research on the locus of football in Brazilian culture and helping to fill important gaps that still persisted in academia. The articles of this research group were gathered in the collection entitled Futebol, jornalismo e ciências sociais.
