A tensão geopolítica gerada pelos Estados Unidos como resultado da presença da China na Antártica. Implicações para o Chile e a Argentina

Este artigo analisa como a crescente tensão entre os Estados Unidos e a China se reflete na região da Antártida e as implicações que esse cenário tem para o Chile e a Argentina. Através de uma lente geopolítica, o livro explora o papel hegemônico histórico dos Estados Unidos no Sistema do Tratado da Antártida (ATS), a ascensão da China como uma potência científica polar e a reação dos Estados Unidos e de outros países ocidentais ao avanço da presença chinesa no Continente Branco e seus mares adjacentes. Conclui-se que a Antártida desponta como um novo cenário de rivalidade sistêmica global, afetando diretamente a soberania e as decisões estratégicas dos países do Cone Sul da América do Sul.
