Education of School Principals of the State of Rio Grande do Sul: Implications for practice

Abstract

This article discuss briefly the origins of elections of school principals in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and the debate that the issue raise in relation to the challenges of the school administration and the needs of education of the principala. Analyisis the data related to the education of acting principals in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in the year of 2007. Compare these results with anterior studies and with international data, providing evidence of a low level of education of the principals of state schools in Rio Grande do Sul.
