Abstract

The article analyzes the significance of the Mount of Olives in Luke–Acts from a pragmalinguistic perspective, highlighting its narrative and theological role. Using concepts such as the model-reader and encyclopedia, it explores how Luke employs this location to reassume events from the First Testament, outline the messianic identity of Jesus, and structure key events in His life, such as the prayer in Gethsemane and the ascension. The study reveals that the Mount of Olives is a theological space of transition, connecting the fulfillment of divine promises in the Messiah to the future of the church. Thus, the article contributes to the understanding of Lucan theology, emphasizing the continuity between biblical history, Christ’s work, and the mission of Christian discipleship.
