This study analyzes Mark 11:12-25 as a prophetic-symbolic act that transcends mere miracle, integrating denunciation (11:12-14, 20-25), proclamation (11:15-19), and performative teaching (11:22-25). The cursing of the fig tree and the cleansing of the Temple constitute divine judgment against a fruitless religious system, revealing Mark’s paradoxical Christology: Jesus as eschatological prophet and Son of God (1:11; 9:7) redefines authentic worship. The literary intercalation emphasizes the connection between the fig tree’s barrenness (fruitless out of season) and the Temple’s corruption (“den of thieves”), both condemned to obsolescence. Methodologically, the study employs exegetical science as outlined by the Pontifical Biblical Commission, conducting morphosyntactic, exegetical, and theological analysis to demonstrate how the episode announces the end of the Temple as salvific axis, replaced by a community grounded in authentic faith, prayer, and forgiveness (11:22-25). The conclusion affirms that Jesus’ action, rooted in prophetic tradition (Jer 7:11; Hos 9:10), exposes institutional Judaism’s crisis and proclaims a new post-Paschal economy of faith.
