Abstract

At a time of justified demands for greater participation of women in leadership positions, including in universities and academic life, due attention is not always paid to the protagonism they have already played in certain areas of knowledge. To provide a historical overview of the 30 years of the Postgraduate Program in Communication in Rio Grande do Sul, this publication brings together testimonies from Doris Haussen, Ione Bentz, Cleusa Scroferneker, Nilda Jacks, Ana Carolina Escosteguy, and Ada Machado Silveira, some of the most active participants in the process of creating and establishing the programs at PUCRS, UNISINOS, UFRGS, and UFSM.
