Abstract

One of the most important and curious lines of the so-called field of research in communication has been developed since 1972 by the German Elisabeth Noelle-Neumann. Born in 1916, Noelle-Neumann specialized in Demoscopy in 1940. Demoscopy is a term not yet worded except in specialized works. It is a composite: demos (people) + copy (literal translation), which means researching the opinion of the public to make it known. Put another way, the demoscopy is the research of public opinion under scientific organization.
