In this article, we pay a tribute to Moisés de Lemos Martins, professor at the University of Minho (UMinho), in Portugal, for which he was awarded the Scientific Merit Award in 2016. We recall the trajectory of the researcher, who graduated from the University of Strasbourg in 1984, as well as his works that contributed to cultural studies, such as O olho de Deus no discurso salazarista, a book that conducts the reflections of this article in his honor.
