Abstract

The Digital Era is not a leap in the void in culture, but an extension of the macro-trends that covered analogical culture and communication. Even with unprecedented powers of pluralism, the old threats of concentration and oligopolization of world culture are renewed. Recent research points to the urgency of rethinking new public cultural policies in an area that presents itself as more transcendental than ever for the economic development and democracy of our societies.
