Radio, since its consolidation since the 1930s, has been used in various ways, with the most different purposes: by the State; by wars of independence and resistance; by political parties and trade unions; by social, religious and ecological movements. Its political role is undeniable, whatever his position. In order to understand its real meaning, however, it is necessary to study in depth the context in which it operates - social-political, economic and cultural conditions. In this sense, in the specific case of Brazil and Argentina, these are prerequisites for an understanding of the political role played by radio under the governments of Getúlio Vargas and Juan Perón.
