Abstract

The authors applied exploratory factor analysis and Rating Scale modeling to evaluate the psychometric properties of a new 25-item measure of the Five-Factor Model of personality. Participants were 887 undergraduate students (mean age = 28.41, SD = 9.71). The oblique, five-factor model was supported trough exploratory analysis. The items of the five separate subscales showed adequate fit to the Rating Scale measurement model, despite the short range of the difficulty parameters. Results provided construct validity evidences and reliability estimates for the new measure for brief personality assessment in Brazil.
