Psychometric Properties of the General Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale (EAGP)

This study examined the psychometric properties of the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) in a sample of adolescents from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Participants were 1.007 students (60.5% girls) aged between 12 and 18 years, coming from public schools. According to expectations, results of exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, using independent subsamples from the total sample, indicated the unidimensionality of the measure. Reliability in this sample, estimated by Cronbach’s alpha, was considered high (0.85). Similarly, all items showed adequate corrected item-total correlations. Results suggest that the Brazilian version of the GSES shows valid and reliable evidences to evaluate general self-efficacy in adolescents.Downloads
