This paper is part of a broader research agenda led by PROMOT - Processos Motivacionais em Contextos Educativos, dealing with teacher adjustment to emergency remote teaching in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil. Data from 202 teachers was collected through Google Forms and analyzed using the Content Analysis method (BARDIN, 2011). As a result, teachers highlight student’s autonomy development and increased appreciation for the school environment, as well as pedagogical losses and deepened educational inequality as consequences of Emergency Remote Teaching. Relative to currently adopted strategies that will continue to be used in the future, teachers mention the use of digital technology and closer relationships between schools and families. When it comes to the return of in-person activities, teachers preferred not to answer or expressed pessimistic views.
