The article approaches the parable as a literary, pedagogical and thought resource, based on two short stories by Brazilian writers of Jewish origin, born in Eastern Europe: “Parábola do filho” [Parable of the son], by Samuel Rawet, and “Os desastres de Sofia” [Sofia’s disasters], by Clarice Lispector.
