Author Biographies

Augusto Nascimento, History Center of the University of Lisbon, Lisbon, Portugal.

Researcher with Aggregation at the History Center of the University of Lisbon, where he teaches and coordinates source publication projects for the History of Africa. Author of Powers and daily life in the fields of S. Tomé and Príncipe; Exile and contract; The south of the diaspora; Mercy in the whirlwind of the islands; Between the world and the islands; The end of the long path; Lives of S. Tomé according to the voices of Soncente; Atlas of Lusophony. São Tomé and Príncipe; Stories from Príncipe Island; Sport instead of politics in colonial São Tomé and Príncipe and São Tomé and Príncipe. The plots of politics and the emancipation of historical knowledge. Main areas of interest: contemporary political history of Africa; sport and leisure in Africa.

Luca Bussotti, Technical University of Mozambique, Maputo, Mozambique.

He holds a PhD in Sociology of Development from the University of Pisa and is a Professor at the Technical University of Mozambique. He was a researcher at ISCTE in Lisbon, and a Visiting Associate Professor at the Federal University of Pernambuco and the University of Foggia and Macerata in Italy. He currently works on issues related to democracy in Africa, freedom of the press and political processes in the Global South.
