This study pretends to analyse the "Manifesto Antropofágico" (Anthropofagic Manifest) of Oswald de Andrade, and articles from the journal Antropofagia as an expression of the discourse, which searches for a construction of a new Brazilian identity and which represents the basis of the project of Modernity in the country.
