Taking as its starting point the first generation of Critical Theory and its research on authoritarian phenomena, the dossier presents analyses on the current implications of the problem. It also offers articles that seek to understand contexts and realities beyond the central countries of capitalism and critical theory itself, highlighting the extent to which the imposition of bourgeois social relations and the resolution of their conflicts is intrinsically accompanied by violence in countries on the periphery of the system. Thus, the dossier seeks to contribute to a discussion about the current limits of contemporary democratic forms and their relationship with authoritarian manifestations.
