Wellinton Angi Valin de Souzza, Colégio Marista Santo Antônio: Sinop, MT, Brazil

He holds a degree in Natural Sciences and Mathematics with a specialization in Physics from the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), as well as a specialization in Astronomy (focusing on Planetology) and a Master’s degree in Natural Science and Mathematics Education from UFMT, with research centered on Physics education, STEM education, and the development of educational technologies. He has experience in both K-12 and higher education, teaching Physics, Science, Mathematics, Astronomy, and Financial Literacy. Currently, he teaches Physics and Financial Literacy at Colégio Marista Santo Antônio, where he also coordinates K-12 programs for scientific research (Iniciação Científica) and academic Olympiads. At UFMT, he served as a substitute professor, teaching Physics courses across various undergraduate programs. His academic and professional career is defined by the integration of teaching, research, innovation, and science communication. During his undergraduate studies, he participated in teaching assistantship, tutoring, outreach, and scientific research programs, conducting studies on Game Theory applied to education. During his Master's program, he developed the Interactive Virtual Experiment (EVI) project—an educational technology initiative based on STEM education principles designed for the experimental teaching of Physics and the Theory of Relativity. He has experience in research and scientific publication in fields such as Physics education, Science education, STEM/STEAM education, educational technologies, experimentation, Astronomy, Game Theory, Forensic Physics, and scientific training. He also possesses significant experience in academic advising, having supervised 24 completed projects and 5 currently in progress, particularly regarding K-12 scientific research initiatives. In the field of Astronomy, he holds specialized training in Planetology and has participated in national and international scientific initiatives related to asteroid observation and identification, including activities linked to the International Astronomical Search Collaboration (IASC), NASA, and Pan-STARRS. He also works on preparing and mentoring students for scientific Olympiads and competitions, contributing to the academic and scientific development of young people. Throughout his career, he has received distinctions such as Honored Professor/Patron of the Natural Sciences and Mathematics/Physics degree program at UFMT (2024), the "Honor to the Teacher" award from the Brazilian Astronomy and Astronautics Olympiad (2023), recognition in the Asteroid Hunt program (2021), and the "Academic Distinction – Best Student" award at UFMT (2020). His work is thus characterized by the integration of Physics education, STEM education, technological innovation, astronomy, scientific research, and the training of new researchers, establishing an interdisciplinary path focused on innovation and the improvement of science education.
