Abstract

The article aims to study the origin and characteristics of Marian devotion in Brazil, from the observation that the religiosity in Latin America and Brazil is marked by the presence of Mary, given that she is so deeply inserted in the process of evangelization that John Paul II has considered it as a characteristic of Brazilian people’s religiosity.
