Proclaiming the Kerygma Today

Abstract

This article seeks to offer a reflection on the Kerygma as the fundamental proclamation of the Christian faith, which should occupy a central place in evangelization. In addition to addressing its meaning, drawing inspiration from the example of the early Christian communities, the article revisits the recent Magisterium, especially Evangelii Gaudium, in which the necessary centrality of the Kerygma is emphasized. Finally, the author offers indications regarding the proclamation of the Kerygma in the contemporary world, recognizing the challenges emerging from present-day contexts. The methodology adopted is qualitative bibliographic research, and the main theoretical references are found in the Magisterium of the most recent popes – Benedict XVI, Francis, and Leo XIV – as well as in the guidelines of the Dicastery for Evangelization concerning Initiation into Christian Life.
