Abstract

From post-modernity, we experience a dissolution of absolutes. The hermeneutic attitude gains ground by making it possible to transit through knowledge without rigid foundations. It is a proposal that attests to human finitude and its condition of temporality. Several areas of knowledge sought to understand how they could overcome intrinsic or residual absolutes and find a path of interpretation from a specific horizon of understanding. Psychoanalysis and Theology were areas that dealt with the impacts of a “hermeneutic turn”. However, still many elements and “absolute temptations” remain. How could we understand the psychoanalytic and theological fields as interpretive? How to overcome absolute foundations and metaphysics? Our missing condition indicates interpretive possibilities that attest to the very vulnerability of incompleteness.
