The devotion of Saint Pius X in the Church (1914-1954):a historical-theological approximation to “sensus fidelium” in the occasion of the centenary of his death
Keywords:
Pius X, Sanctity. Sensus fidei.Abstract
Due to the celebration of the 40 years of the Pope Pius X’s death, the author deals with this Pope’s fame of sanctity in the light of sensus fidei. He also intends to look into certain figures of the Church’s life that, owing to its performance, marked the Church positively. Pope Pius X has already died with fame of sanctity, which continues until the mid 30’s of the XX century, becoming more marked during World War I and in the Holy Year of 1925, and culminating in his beatification, in 1951, and canonization on the 29th of May of 1954.
