Deuteronomy, deuteronomistic history portal
Keywords:
Deuteronomy. Holy Scripture. Old Testament.Abstract
The author of the article follows the opinion that there were two redactions to the book of Deuteronomy and the “four books of Moses”, called Deuteronomistic Historical Work (DHW). He analyzes the relationship between the book of Deuteronomy and the “former prophets”: Joshua, Judges, Samuel and Kings. Thus, this article presents a synchronic approach to the Deuteronomy and the DHW, assuming that the Deuteronomy we are talking about is the Deuteronomy in its final redaction, through the work of the same writer (or group) who compiled the prophetic books that follow it. Therefore, the author considers the book of Deuteronomy as a “portal” to DHW. In this perspective, the author examines five theological and juridical themes present in the Deuteronomy, concluding with the theme of the Alliance and an analysis of the form (vocabulary, expressions and style) of the book in question.Downloads
