Experiencia y materialidades de información en objetos inteligentes y plataformas digitales

Resumen

Este artículo explora las materialidades digitales de la información a partir de la experiencia de datificación de la ansiedad y el monitoreo respi­ratorio a través del uso del dispositivo vestible Spire Stone. Presentamos el informe de uso personal del wearable y un análisis descriptivo de la trayectoria de la producción de información en la asociación cuerpo-algoritmos-wearable. Argumentamos que las materialidades de la información se refieren menos a las esencias representativas (soft) o materiales (hard) de lo vestible-plataforma, y más a las cadenas de acción y consecuencias prácticas producidas durante la experiencia de monitoreo. Sugerimos la noción de experiencia en William James como un enfoque complementario a los estudios que eligen explorar las materialidades digitales de la información en el proceso dinámico de su propia formación, evitando perspectivas centradas en la especificidad técnica de los objetos inteligentes o restringidas a la percepción humana de su uso.
