Cinema Gaúcho: diversidade e inovações

Abstract

This review of Cinema Gaúcho: diversidade e inovações, a book organized by Cristiane Freitas and Carlos Gerbase, aims at identifying elements that answer some questions about Gaucho cinema, its identity and its production far from the Rio-São Paulo axis, as well as finding parameters that reflect what is this gaucho cinema. Although a categorization can be difficult, slippery and always complex, I believe the book reveals data that can help us think about the specificities of such cinema. That is what guides this review, the determination to search and identify elements, the same way the authors do.
