Abstract

French sociologist Michel Maffesoli accepts the invitation from Revista Famecos and, 25 years after an interview that became a reference text, still widely cited by hundreds of Brazilian scholars on the subject, returns to the fomous question: what exactly is the imaginary? In this new  interview, he also revisits the discussion of ideas by his mentor, Gilbert Durand, and positions himself in relation to other important intellectuals who have addressed the imaginary. With his usual clarity, the emeritus professor of the Sorbonne simplifies the complex.
