Abstract

Indeterministic creativity, grounded in the sciences of complexity, represents a radical shift in artistic, cultural, and communicational creativity. It is characterized by unpredictability and the absence of replicable formulas, imparting emotional unpredictability to the works. This approach challenges traditional categorizations, enabling the creation of new genres, formats, and languages that shape the future of art, culture, and entertainment. This article seeks to discuss how indeterministic creativity, based on Peirce’s concepts of emergence and absolute chance which form the focus of this study—serves as a mechanism for radical innovation. To this end, the concepts of emergence and absolute chance are initially analyzed; subsequently, the impacts of complexity on creativity are explored; finally, the way in which this indeterministic creativity contributes to the emotional unpredictability present in the works is examined.
