Analyzes of the articulations between the language and the performances of Sertanejo Universitário are developed in the article. From the method of “escuta conexa” (JANOTTI JR.; QUEIROZ, 2021), themes and practices, such as celebration, alcohol consumption and suffering, mediate possible corporeity’s, reverberated in the songs and mimicked by singers and fans of the music genre. For this, the ten most played songs on the Spotify platform in Brazil 2019 (period before the COVID-19 pandemic) are taken as a case, in addition to video clips of the aforementioned songs on Youtube, considering how such productions reveal valuations elements and practices mediated by the musical genre.
