Rio and its music industry

Abstract

In general, the various forms of musical expression in the city of Rio de Janeiro seem to be associated, for different reasons and times, with certain places: samba to the suburbs and the favelas, Bossa Nova to the south zone, funk and Hip-hop to the favelas, the forró to the São Cristóvão Fair, and so on.
