Since 1999 the members of EROSS (Equipe de Recherche sur l’Ordre Sexuel Symbolique) have come together to think about sex. This book is a follow-up to the congress organized in April 2002 in Montpellier on the theme: "Symbolic Sexual Order: permanences / changes?" Gender generally designates the distinction of physical character between males and females of Each species. The feminist and homosexual movements elaborated their reflections on the theme to deconstruct the existing knowledge, source of discrimination and prejudices. The purpose of this reflection was the production of new knowledge on the subject of sexuality. The conception of the work is guided by utopia and subversion. However, it is important to note that the richness of these issues gives rise to three central themes: scientific theory, politics and sexual identity.
