Taking as a scenario the Cold War scenario, the author reconstitutes the foundation of the world community of communication sciences, focusing on the institutionalization of the IAMCR, and then to highlight the Brazilian participation in this academic effort. It favors the role played by INTERCOM in such a historical process, making a critical assessment of its trends and perspectives.Downloads
