Abstract

In this article, the author analyzes the representation of violence in the Brazilian television media, in an anthropological-sociological and phenomenological approach, whose visualization techniques present intimate and passionate or even prejudiced and aggressive formats. The object thus becomes its own method of staging.

PhD in Sociology from René Descartes University (Sorbonne - Paris V), France. Professor of the Post-Graduate Program in Social Sciences, Paul Valéry University - Montpellier III, France. Member of the Center de Recherches sur l'Imaginaire and the Institut de Recherches Sociologiques & Anthropologiques. Professor invited by the Federal University of Pernambuco (1993-95), Federal University of Alagoas (1995-96) and Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (April 2004).
