The present article intends to discuss the question of contradictory meanings obtained between the semantic and the pragmatic levels of enunciations, starting from a text written by Lewis Carroll. According to the author, these considerations are important for the understanding of the relationship between what rationality presuposes at the logical level and what rationality is assumed to be at the pragmatic, communicational level.
