The contemporary communications revolution, of which the emergence of cyberspace is the most striking manifestation, is only one of the dimensions of a wide-ranging anthropological mutation. First of all, I will try to put the development of the Internet and the digitization of information back into a long-term historical perspective. Secondly, I will try to characterize the originality of the new communication devices and will address some of the political, economic and social problems resulting from the rise of cyberspace. I will conclude with a poetic meditation on the web page.Downloads
