Abstract

Chasing a dream. The story of the founding of the world's first favela news agency is the first book recently released by the Favelas News Agency (ANF), located in Rio de Janeiro, and whose author and founder is André Fernandes. The book proposes to narrate the history of militancy of André Fernandes as a missionary in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, a territory marked by the stigma of poverty and illegality and under the concentration of a so-called "dangerous class". And against this generalization, marked by prejudice, indifference and disrespect, is the work launched in 2014.
