Obituary, Event, Journalistic Practice.Abstract
The obituary treated as a place of tension of the news-worthiness criteria, which follows "the agenda of God". Events without relevance receive a discursive survival in two types of obituary located in the Brazilian press. Near the genre "profile", Folha de São Paulo follows the Anglo-Saxon production style. On the contrary, there is no journalistic reporting work in Zero Hora. This paper analyses the second type of obituary based on two alternate periods 01/10/2011 to 16/01/2011; 06/07/2011 to 07/08/2011; in the latter period, we did an interview with the obituary writer, followed by the observation of the process of editing the day 07/07/2011 and how it was influenced by the column published the day before and reflected itself the following days.
