Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The text follows the journal's formatting requirements according to the "Guidelines for Authors"found in the "Submissions" section.
  • It is mandatory to fill in the Article Cover, with the article information. This document must be forwarded separately at the time of submission.
  • Authors must disclose the use of artificial intelligence at any stage of the research and must complete the AI and Technology Statement, clearly indicating how and which tool was used.

Author Guidelines

  • The journal adopts the updated ABNT reference standard (ABNT – General Rules).
Articles submitted to the journal Famecos must not exceed 60,000 characters including spaces. If exceeded, the submission will be rejected, with an indication for a new submission of no more than 60,000 characters.
  • The textual elements of the article must be written in upper and lower case; neither the main title nor the author’s name should appear entirely in capital letters.
  • Files submitted for review must be in open text format (Word).
PLEASE PROVIDE ALL REQUESTED INFORMATION ON THE METADATA PAGE. If the information is not provided, the article will be rejected.
  • The text must necessarily include title, abstracts, and keywords in the languages required by the journal – Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
If the text was originally written in a foreign language, it must include an abstract and keywords in Portuguese and in the journal’s interface languages.
  • The author must keep their registration profile updated and, when submitting a new text, must completely fill out the information items listed under “Submission Conditions.”
  • Information about the authors must include the following data: full name with correct spelling; ORCID (see: orcid.org); affiliation: institution, city, state, and country (under no circumstances should affiliations include authors’ degrees or short biographies. These, when included, should be published separately from affiliations as author notes); e-mail; complete physical postal address of the corresponding author, which may be the institutional address, placed at the end of the article; research funding source (if any); potential conflicts of interest (if any).
  • Authors may indicate at the end of the article: a) acknowledgments; b) short biography: academic and professional background, after approval.
  • Figures and tables must have their placement indicated in the text and be sent in a separate file, identifying the software and version.
Bibliographic information must be correct and in accordance with the standard adopted by the journal (ABNT).
  • The contribution must be original and unpublished – articles based on bibliographic compilations are not accepted. Texts must not be under review for publication by another journal; if not the case, justify in “Comments to the editor” when submitting through the portal.
  • Publication of works is subject to approval by reviewers. Originality of the topic, consistency and rigor of the approach, and contribution to the thematic line are taken into account. Reviewers’ names will remain confidential, as will authors’ names before the reviewers.
  • Articles previously published in conference proceedings must have the title modified so that reviewers cannot identify the authors through a simple Google search. The editorial team must be informed, via “Comments to the editor,” of the work’s history, and such information must later be included as a footnote in the final version of the article, if approved for publication.
  • The spontaneous submission of articles and their subsequent acceptance for publication automatically imply the transfer of first publication rights to the Journal. Intellectual copyright remains with the author. Any later reproduction, by any means, may only be made through prior agreement between the Journal and the author and with proper source citation.
  • The concepts expressed in the works are the sole responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the Editorial Committee and the Editorial Board.
  • A DOCTORAL DEGREE IS REQUIRED FOR AUTHORSHIP, with the possibility of partnership with DOCTORAL CANDIDATES.
Articles with more than two authors must be submitted together with a note describing each author’s participation in the research and text production.
The author who publishes in the journal must respect a two-year period before submitting a new text, even in coauthorship.

Declaration on AI and technologies: Authors must state whether or not they used Artificial Intelligence in the research, specifying the tool and its use. The responsibility for the content lies entirely with the authors. Failure to provide this information constitutes an ethical violation.
