Aesthetic experience as an expression of the Alterity of the non-identical

We try to think of a possible intertwining, or, at least, an approximation between the Adorno Aesthetics and the Levinas Ethics, especially from the non-identical and the aesthetic experience as an experience of the encounter with the Other. We will see that the moment of accomplishment of the Work of Art is its ethical moment. The one who detaches the work from the one who places it in the world and opens the way for other subjectivities to form. Therefore, we are dealing with the aesthetic movement that can provoke outbreaks of new senses and perceptions, as concerns that keep the non-identical alive without subsuming it to the identical. And, on the other hand, we bring some aspects of Levinas’ work to think about the work of art and poetry, especially that of Obliteration, as resistance to idolatrous reason.
