Theodor Adorno. Feodor Dostoevsky. The doubleAbstract
The objective of the text is to analyze Theodor Adorno’s mentions of Dostoevsky’s work, emphasizing the relationship between the philosopher’s conception of “damaged life” and the Russian author’s literary work. It is at stake to demonstrate how much the “negative epic” seen by Adorno in Dostoevsky is embodied in the delineation of an underground subjectivity from the idea of a fragmented subjective excess, which leads to the idea of bad conscience and, finally, to psychic bankruptcy. Such elements will be investigated in the interpretation of the novel “The double. Petersburg poem “, by Dostoevsky.
