Abstract

The objective of the study was to gather evidences of internal structure and convergent validity the Mindfulness at Work Scale. Study participants were 383 workers of both sexes (65.7% female), aged between 18 and 70 years (M = 34.5, SD = 11.7), who answered the Brazilian version of the scale and instruments to assess other constructs. The factor analysis demonstrated the existence of seven items concentrated on a single factor, with internal consistency index of 0.81. In convergent validity, the scale correlated positively and moderately with work engagement, mental health and positive affects directed to work, and negative and moderately with neuroticism. The scale had therefore evidence of internal structure of validity, reliability and convergent validity which recommends its use in future research and organizational diagnoses of mindfulness at work.

Psicólogo formado pela UFRJ, Terapeuta Cognitivo-Comportamental, Mestre em Psicologia (UNIVERSO), Psicólogo Organizacional e do Trabalho da Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) e Doutorando em Psicologia (UNIVERSO).

Maria Cristina Ferreira, Universidade Salgado de Oliveira

Possui graduação em psicologia pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (1972), mestrado em psicologia pela Fundação Getúlio Vargas - RJ (1977), na área de Psicologia Cognitiva, doutorado em psicologia pela Fundação Getúlio Vargas - RJ (1985), na área de psicologia cognitiva, e estágio pós-doutoral realizado na Victoria University at Wellington (2009). Tem experiência de docência e pesquisa nas áreas de psicologia organizacional e do trabalho, metodologia de pesquisa e psicometria, e atua principalmente nos seguintes temas: comportamento organizacional, psicologia transcultural e medidas psicológicas. Foi membro da diretoria da Sociedade Brasileira de Psicologia Organizacional e do Trabalho no biênio 2003-2005; membro da diretoria da ANPEPP no biênio 2008-2010 e 2010-2012; coordenadora de GT da ANPEPP nos Simpósios de 2008 e 2010; representante regional para a América do Sul da International Association of Cross-Cultural Psychology no período de 2010-2014, tendo sido reeleita para o período 2014-2018. Em 2012, presidiu a Comissão Organizadora do V Congresso Brasileiro de Psicologia Organizacional e do Trabalho e atuou como professora visitante do Mestrado Europeu em Psicologia Organizacional e do Trabalho, na Universidade de Coimbra.
