Abstract

Professor of the Sorbonne University (III) and author of books already incorporated to the cinematographic culture in the academic scope, like "theoretical Dictionary and critical of cinema" and "The esthetics of the film", both in coautorship with Jacques Aumont, Michel Marie can be considered, Today, one of the leading French and world theoreticians in the history of cinema. He also finishes, along with Laurent Jullier, "Lires les images de cinéma" by Larousse, in which he presents the tools of film analysis, considering the scales of the plane, the sequence and the film, and reflections on the Mute Cinema , The Golden Age of the genres, the life lessons of classicism, the cinema of modernity, the second Hollywood blow and the postmodern era.
