O presente trabalho visa a investigar as formas de recrutamento docente para as escolas públicas primárias na Corte imperial. Serão analisados os requisitos legais exigidos para o exercício do ofício, objetivando apreender as continuidades, as contradições e as rupturas inerentes ao processo de profissionalização da carreira docente e à construção da ciência pedagógica como um campo de sabe-res especializados, na passagem do mestre-escola ao professor, em um processo que abrange o período de 1854 a 1880, momento em que se afirma o modelo das Escolas Normais como locus privilegiado de formação docente.Descritores – Formação de professores; história; profissionalização docente. ABSTRACT – This present paper will investigate forms ans strategics of lecturer’s recruitment for basic publics schools in eight hundred years, on imperial Court. It will be analyzed the legals require-ments demandes for teaching. The objective is apprehend the continuitys, the contraditions and the ruptures concern of professionalization of lecturer’s career and construction of “Teaching Science” like specialise knows, in the passage of school-master to teacher, on the process situated between 1854 and 1880. In this moment will be reafirmed the model of school formation and so the Normals Schools, like locus privileged of teacher’s formation.
