Abstract

This article delves – from a systemic and constructivist perspective – into the practices and discourses of eight leaders of Evangelical churches of different denominations, present in three regions of Chile, with positions oriented to the openness and inclusion of lesbians and gay people in the churches they represent. The collection of information was carried out using the snowball method and thanks to the authors’ contacts. The categories analyzed are related to the experience of leaders with lesbian and gay people within their churches, the problems that arise in the Christian community, the theological challenges that this experience represents and finally the identification of steps towards an inclusive theology of sexual diversity.
